It's easy to get started
There are many ways to meditate. Listening to meditations that are called “Led Meditations” are welcoming for those new to the practice. Another way to ease into the practice, is to sit comfortably, spine straight, and place your hands on your heart in Anjali Mudra (prayer position), close your eyes, and begin focusing on the breath. Breathe in to a count of 6, hold for a count of 4, and then exhale for a count of 6, and note the bottom of the exhalation for 4; and then repeat the cycle. Breathing in to 6, hold for 4, exhale to 6, wait for 4. And do this for cycle, paying attention to the breath for a minimum of 5 minutes. Voila!
