I was introduced to Reiki in the mid-1990’s by a Massage Therapist. While getting my massage, she asked if she could apply Reiki to my back. I said, “Sure”, not knowing what Reiki was. Without her hands lifting from my lower back, they became instantly hot and so much so that I lifted my head from the face cradle and looked back at her and asked, “What did you put in your hands?” She smiled and opened her hands like I do when I show my dog there’s no more treats, and she said, “Nothing, that’s reiki!”
in 1997 I attended my first Reiki Level 1 class (Shoden) and began my Reiki journey. I fell in love with the practice and saw first hand the results it was having on myself, friends and family. I continued my journey taking Level 2 (Okuden) and learned the intricasies of sending sending Distance Reiki, helping heal past trauma and even sending Reiki to future events! This modaility kept impressing me with its ease and functionality! Within the same week, both Reiki Masters I was working with at the time told me they felt I was ready to become a Reiki Master (Shinpiden) and a Reiki Master Teacher (Shihan). I took that as a sign that it was time, as I had also been wondering about that very next step on my Reiki journey.
I have been a Reiki Master for over a decade, both teaching Reiki and giving Reiki to clients, friends, family and self. You can read more about all of the many Reiki activities I offer at meetup.com and search for “Inland Empire Reiki – Universal Life Force Energy. Reiki Level 1, 2 classes are being taught on-line and as the world starts re-emerging (after COVID) I plan on teaching again in my home. Once a student takes one of my Reiki level classes they may attend another of the same level free, either in person or on-line. This is a wonderful time to start your own Reiki journey.
